Marketing Resources & Results President Honored as Finalist for Athena Awards in Northeast Ohio
Chris Brown Recognized as Athena Finalist for Professional Achievements, Service to the Community and Leadership
October 1, 2007 ---NORTHEAST OHIO — The president and owner of Marketing Resources & Results was recently honored by Athena International as one of the Northeast Ohio Finalists for the 2007 Athena Award. The award recognizes the efforts and successes of businesspeople around the world. The awards honor those who have helped women reach their full leadership potential, demonstrate creativity and initiative in their profession, and improve the quality of life for others in the community.
"It is an honor to be lifted up as a leader in the business community," said Brown. "Being a role model is a responsibility and something that I cherish. My hope is that the ripple effect of this award helps to inspire women everywhere to achieve their full potential and I pledge to continue to live up to the leadership tenets of Athena International."
The characteristics of the Athena International leadership model was created following a survey sent to 5000 women leaders. The eight tenets that are reflective of women's contribution to leadership are:

- Relationships
- Giving Back
- Collaboration
- Courageous Acts
- Learning
- Fierce Advocacy
- Celebration and Joy
According to Athena International, these personal traits that are more intuitive to women, and combined with the strongest aspects of traditional leadership — taking risks, assertiveness, hard work — prepare women to be successful leaders in the 21st century.
Recipients of the award were Theresa Carter, President of the Omnova Solutions Foundation, for Akron and for Cleveland, Mary Ann Corrigan-Davis, President of Saint Joseph Academy.

Inside Business magazine hosted the awards banquet at Landerhaven in Cleveland. The 11 finalists were featured on the cover of the October 2007 issue of the magazine.
